Hello bmw gang my names Reece I have the 520d m sport 2007 m57 diesel manual I believe I’ve got a weird rattle kinda noise when I turn my car on and it’s idling I feel a vibration when I press my gas pedal to around 2-3k revs it makes a weird rattle kind of noise and then stops when I then start my journey I can hear this rattle yet again bouncing of walls and parked cars when travelling around 20-30mph or driving through places the faster I go the less you can kinda hear it does anyone have any clues on this please I’ve searched for days and took the car apart for days and I’m now getting fed up is there anything I could check or look at it sounds like it’s from the front of my engine drivers side

 

First, get under the hood and isolate the location. A mechanic's stethoscope may be required.
