JayJay, are you using a Macro setting or is that camera just that good?

most of the shots are set to 'nighttime' mode on the cam but the idrive one was using macro mode and i had to manually move the autofocus point towards the menu button. came out surprising well.

shutter was open for 4 seconds at either iso 50 or 100

not sure. i could check tho

Nice pictures and nice camera. Still deciding if I should go for the z750 or the Canon SD500. I just heard though that the Casio has 'lense error' problems? Nonetheless. great pictures.

You have inspired me.

I just took these in the garage.

D70 with Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D AF lens on 68mm of stacked extension tubes. These are not crops. These are images from the entire sensor. Quick and dirty - no proper lighting so my depth of field is razor thin. I'll try to do something proper at some point. Nice idea for a shoot. Thanks.

The first is a portion of the i-Drive knob. The second image is the gearshift knob.

heh i had the same dilemma in choosing. sd500 or z750.

the canon has a lcd screen cracking problem apparently.

the casio does have a lens error. however its usually caused by the lens opening whilst in your pocket or into something restricting its movement. it screws up the motor. it happened on the one i bought. it opened in my jeans by accident and about 4 days later i had a lens error. i took it back and they replaced it for a new one.

i think the casio is better overall tbh. far far more manual things to play around with plus i can take 320 shots on one battery charge. it literally goes on and on forever. i read lots and lots of things and most people were saying that when it came down to the choice the casio wins. one guy even bought both. used them fora week and then sent the sd500 back.

to stop the cam opening in your pocket you have to turn of the 'quick pic' or something so it wont open if you press the shutter all the way down and i found that disabling the 'review and record' buttons unless it was on has helped. also by turning the dial to 'mic'; even if it does turn on the lens stays put.

Thanks! No, no one has ever asked. I just got my D70 back from the shop last week. As soon as I get a chance to wash my car I'll be working on getting some good captures.
