Hi. I think my rain sensor is to sensitive, even if the handle is "Low". Can the sensitviness be adjusted by the dealer, or ?

Funny, I was just thinking that my E60 isn't sensitive enough. I drove in my first misty rain yesterday and was disappointed that it didn't act as well as I thought it would.

The E39 rain sensor was perfect. I don't recall too many times in 3 years that I even used the "low" wiper speed setting. I simply used the sensor position and varied the sensitivity as needed.

i've discovered that the computer sometimes gets confused... the wipers slow down as you do, and go intermittent/slow when stopped (red light, etc.) but sometimes mine doesn't pick it back up as quickly when i get moving again... until i hit 40+mph and it shifts back to normal...

hoping version 11 (tuesday, next, in for service) clears this one up too.

I just got my car on Sat and it rained by us all weekend and they worked great. You can ajust the sensitivity on the wiper controls (you may know this already) but I also have the update on my car.

Dear Teq. I know I csn adjust it on the handle (even though I don't think there is so much difference...). I just wondered if the "generel" sensitiviness could be adjusted by the dealer.

A small problem, but it is anoying.

Dealer can re-calibrate the rain sensor if necessary. I had the same problem with my previous 3 Series after replacing the windscreen/rainsensor. Dealer re-calibrated the sensor but sensitivity was only improved a little bit, hope you will have more luck!
