I have the premium sound system installed (Logic 7) in my e60 but it sure doesn't seem 'Premium' when it doesn't work half of the time. It's been a hit and miss situation whenver I get into my car. I've tried different ways to reproduce the problem but it so much like women....'moody'. It turns on/off whenever it feels like it. Anyone else encountering this issue with the radio? BTW, no NAV installed on my car.

HUmmm weird... you dont have nav and are having radio issues?

I've heard of thr problem on cars WITH nav... but never heard of one on a car w/out nav.

I had intermittent problems with mine until Cobradav sent me this SIB which I took to my dealer. They replaced the L7 amp and now it always works. Check to make sure you have the two options noted for the E60 and this could be your problem. FYI - I had the dealer check it once before I had the SIB and they couldn't reproduce the problem. Once I showed them the SIB they fixed it without even trying ti reproduce the problem.

SUBJECT
No Audio Sound in any Mode
MODEL
E60 (5 Series) with Option 609 (CCC) and Option 677 (Logic7)
E63/E64 (6 Series) with Option 677 (Logic7)
E90 (3 Series) with Option 609 (CCC) and Option 677 (Logic7)
SITUATION
No audio sound in any mode (radio/CD, PDC, NAV voice, telephone) on vehicles with CCC (Car Communication Computer) and Logic7 after switching on the vehicle.
Audio can't be activated by pressing the ON/OFF rotary knob.
NOTE: All other functions working correctly and can be selected via the iDrive.
CAUSE
Communication error between the CCC and the Logic7 amplifier during start up.
CORRECTION
On a customer complaint basis only, replace the Logic7 amplifier.
After replacement, reprogram the complete vehicle with CIP18.1 or a later version.
Refer to SI B090501 (Coding, Individualization and Programming) "Procedure A".

F6maniac!! Thank you so much! This is the exact problem I'm experiencing. I will be sure to take this SIB with me to my dealer. I'm also getting the CPT9000 w/BTUM installed. Now I'm left with only one problem after 2+ years of ownership....MP3.
