Default Radiator M54 530i E60 - Best place to buy besides BMW and part number?

Hi guys,

I was told by my mechanic today that the coolant leak dripping from beneath the car is from from a hairline crack in the radiator where it has corroded, however for the time being I have added an additive to keep the leak at bay until the radiator is replaced.

I noticed that the OEM is made from BEHR, however they seem to have two different part numbers to the BMW OEM.

If so, can someone point me in the right direction?

A BMW technician will be carrying out the work for me but i want to make sure i have all the parts necessary for the new radiator to be installed.

Thank you in advance

If I were you, I wouldn't add those additives.

Typically, there are 2 radiators, one for the automatic transmission and the other for manual transmission.

Check the prices on RMeuropean dot com, AutohausAZ dot com, Amazon. Shipping on all 3 sites should be free since the radiator price is above the price threshold for all 3 sites for free shipping.

Mines an Automatic transmission. I'm from Sydney, Australia so the availability of shipping is a necessity.

This is the product he added Name: 1008_zps56c9d7a7.jpg

Thanks.
NOT A GREAT IDEA ... BMW Cooling systems have several small filters and these can often block them creating even greater problems!! Find yourself an indy mechanic who is "NEW SCHOOL" and BMW saavy. As for replacement parts, I'm sure there are aftermarket BMW parts suppliers down under who are more "local" to you!

Thanks for that all important notice mate, much appreciated. Has anyone got the part number for the radiator? If so, could you steer me too a reputable site.

Has anyone else had this problem? My BMW mechanic said it is a common problem on these cars.
