Oh my gosh, that is terrible, but it looks like the people in the car should be okay.

The car did its job. Better to lose the car than your son.

I'm glad your son is ok...but I would have kicked his ass up and down the road if I was you.

these cars are too much for a kid - the tuning on the sports suspension leaves little room for "feedback" its tough to know when you are pushing the limit which makes it pretty damn easy to push too hard and start sliding. Not surprised at all he was okay though every crash Ive seen these things are freaking tanks. Good luck with insurance - be honest but try not to say anything incriminating.

...in fact the e60's only real weakness appears to be Vancouverians.

Martin,

Glad to hear your son is OK. I'm sure he is more scared than you are.

But, about getting the most for your car. First a quick story: I had a 1997 BMW 528I AC Schnitzer edition (Wheels, Body Kit, Pin Striping and all interior). Well in 2002 my baby was hit in the back end and totaled. The insurance company offered me $6,300 for the car. No sir!! That was not going to work. I looked all over the internet trying to find out what I could do and how to get more to replace my baby because there was not another Bimmer like it. So I asked for a replacement, yea that did'nt go anywhere either. So I found a guy, Terry Fisher with Appraisal Group of America Inc. (autoloss.com) 877-655-1661 in Portland OR. I gave them pics of my car and a long list of mods with receipts. After several months total payout by my insurance company was over $14,000. The cost was around $300. I'm sorry but I will spend a bit to get a ton back!! They did a great job and were supper nice to work with. I live in Texas so no need to be in the same state.

I hope this info helps and it all works out for you and your family!

Craig
