I live an Arizona, and when I get off work I like to cool down my car before i get in it.
Sometimes when I set it to MAX A/C it will stay like that, but anywhere from 2-10 seconds later the A/C will turn itself down or off, wherever it was previously set. My question is, is it normal that this happens? Is there something I can do to prevent it from happening? Should I be worried about anything?

this is normal, there's a temp sensor in the A\C controls, this helps it regulate the temp you set it to

Maybe your air is on auto and cool not just cool. If it's on auto, if it senses the car is getting cool or doesnt need as much air as you selected it will lower the fan. Hope this helps. GL

Doesn't sound normal to me. As I understand the AC operation, turning on Max disables the temp setting and just cranks the AC to full. In fact the Auto light goes off when Max is pressed and mine stays that way until I disable/turn off Max after which it reverts to the temp I have set in Auto mode. Either way, I find it hard to believe that after 2-10 seconds the AC has cooled down a car exposed to the Arizona summer temperatures to any reasonable Auto setting...

I've had three E60's and they all do that...not sure why. It seems like it does it only when it's really hot out.
