On the list of channels, did the channel "Fox News" change to just "News" a week or so ago? I can't figure out why they would do that...

Yes, it looks like it did change from Fox News Channel to just News. Media Bias! Media Bias! :P

I looks like on Jan 1 Fox News and Sirrius will go thier separate ways. It is not a good trade to get Howard Stern and lose Fox.

Really? I'll be totally bummed. For me, FNN is preset number 1...

I saw an interview with Mel Karmazin and he said that Fox and Sirrius were not able to come to terms and most likely would be dropped on Jan 1. I sent an email to him but they ignored me. Fox is also my number 1 selection.

I did some reading about the situation today. Yeah, they haven't agreed to a contract but you gotta believe they'll hammer something out at the last minute...not all Sirius subscribers are Howard fans and Fox wants to be there as bad as anybody.

I think they're even going to add a channel that features people like Bill O'Reilly, Tony Snow, John Gibson, and Alan Colmes so you gotta believe they'll figure something out to resolve this.

Clearly, if it weren't integrated with my car, this would be a reason to switch to XM...

I too am a serious owner and am one with my car. :) I like Fox too so I hope they do something.

Well, I, too, noticed the change of the channel identifier from "Fox News" to "News" (which makes sense now). It was only today I discovered that Fox News had actually been dropped on Jan 1.

Because of that I just went out and purchased a modular XM system. And if my Sirius weren't still "free", I'd unsubscribe immediately (I tried, but apparently they don't have a business process to cancel a subscription when it's in a free credited period).

Well, I guess I have a reason to get Sirius Radio. I can't stand FAUX News.

I listen to Fox News not for the opinion/editorial or fluff content (O'Reilly Factor, Hannity and Colmes, etc.) but for the news content on the hard news shows (FOX News Live, FOX Report, Special Report, etc.), which is approximately one million times better (not to mention more timely and thorough) than any other news outlet (see also). I'd sooner listen to FNC or BBC before CNN, CNN Headlines News (which is utter tripe since they changed formats a few years ago), MSNBC, or any other US outlet.

Just like the opinion/editorial page of the New York Times or the Washington Post doesn't represent news, neither do the opinion/editorial shows on TV news channels.
