Does Platinum Gray show scratches as much as black, and is it as hard to keep up with? I currently have silver gray which I love, but getting a new 5 and feel I need to at least change colors.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Nothing shows scracthes like black.

PG is more like silver in that regard.

Maybe the best place to ask this question is in the detailing forum.

I love Platinum Gray! Eastern Washington is a relatively dusty place; additionally, when it rains the cars typically look like crap afterwards. Dirty water, dust, etc... does not show as much on PG.

Here's a couple pics of PG.

Love my gray. Wouldn't trade it for anything (except another gray 5 series!). Get a lot of compliments on it.

It does show dirt more so than white or silver, but it's not as bad as black. When you wash it, you have to dry the car off very quickly and make sure you don't wash it in direct sunlight... else you'll have all kinds of water spots on it which look horrible.

I just got a new 09 Platimum Gray 535... AND I LOVE THE COLOR! Its funny because I originally wanted to get Black Sapphire, but the dealer didn't have a 535 w/ sport in Black Sapphire on their lot... So, my CA showed me one in Platimum Gray.

I wasn't sure about compromising on color, but I was getting a great deal and the car had more options than I even wanted... So, I got the car... Well, NOW I LOVE THE COLOR... It hides dirt pretty well... And at night it has this blue/greenish tint in addition to the grey. Also, I've gotten a good number of complements from my friends.

BTW, my last car was Silver Grey.

I actually love it but this is going to be my absolutely LAST gray/silver/charcoal BMW. Enough is enough. Next may very well be white unless they come up with a really nice red which has been missing for a while now. Lexus has this deep burgundy that looks great. C'mon BMW.
