I'm starting to think that maybe that groundhog can't really predict the weather. What a lying piece of s.
Groundhog shadow is just a joke and never accurate since day 1. My kids love to look at the groundhog but never believe the predication ....

Some of the biggest storms on record in the northeast occur in early April.
I wait until all of the crap is cleaned off the roads, usually end of April. My tires aren't good under 50 degrees anyway. (Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's)

Yeah, I was kind of being a little sarcastic there. The weatherman and his computers can't even tell me what will happen 3 days from now, so I rarely trust the long term weather predictions of illiterate, mute, terrified rodents.

I wouldn't do it
The rubber used for performance tires need to have the higher temps to work well. I'm in the process of selecting new tires for track days, and I'm getting a lesson in rubber compunds.

Track days? What kind of car are you piloting around the track?

I'm anxious to put the 20's back on but i dont want to act prematurely. I would be pissed at myself if we got more snow and my wintersports were in the garage.

Your thoughts????
Don't forget you don't need snow on the ground to benefit from the snow tires. I run 19" michelin PS2s on my car in the summer, and below 40 degrees, they are simply a traction control light waiting to flash. The Summer tires loose grip below 40 whereas the snows are in thier element and provide excellent grip in these conditions. I am not putting my Michelins back on until I'm convinced the temps are going to remain over 40 every day. Besides, I have Dunlops (M3 wintersports) as well and they are very smooth and quiet. IMHO, other than the look of the wheels, there is not much of a drawback keeping the winter tires on for a few more weeks.

Hey poleposition - Pretty sure I saw you the other day, driving in the oppisite direction as me, just off Jericho Turnpike and South Oyster Bay road. You still have your winter wheels on the car?

Damn it. I asked this exact question on the m5board. I was hoping that the Northeasterners would say 'sure, switch 'em out now'. I can't stand these Blizzaks anymore. Sure, good for what they were intended for i.e.the snow/slush, but horrible in every other respect. I think I can only hold out until the end of March.
