Question about front brake caliper guiding bolts

I have a 2008 BMW E60 528XI. I took my front brake calipers off today without noticing that the two guiding bolts have different lengths (short and long). So I don't know which one should go on top and which one should go on bottom.

I put them on without any problem and tight them up. If I remember correctly, on the left caliper, I put the short bolt on top and the long bolt on bottom and on the right caliper, I put the short bolt on bottom and the long bolt on top. I think I did one side wrong. but why all of them can fit tight in there?

I don't remember but if you put the long one at the wrong spot... it will stick out to far. So you know you have to put the small one.

Thank you for your reply. None of my bolts sticks out so I probably did it right. I will drive my car for a bit and see if everything is okay.
