I recently purchased a 2004 545i with sports suspension with 58k miles on it, and the suspension feels very rough compared to my 2002 E39 530i (126k miles) sports suspension with a front bad bushing. I can feel every little bump on the road. When I drive over a mid-size bump, I feel a slight dip that is enough to make me feel concerned. It doesn't feel like a bmw at all. Is it supposed to feel that way? This is the first E60 that I have ever driven, so I don't know what to expect. Any inputs would help. Thank you.

Tires: Brand new Kumho ASX 18" (also had the same set of tires but 17" on my E39 and it was nice and quiet.)

I also have a 545 with sports package and I don't have the same impression. I came from an e34 with konis all around, m5 touring nurburhing sway bars, m5 spring pads and vogtland springs. Comapring the e34 to e60 I attribute the stiffness to a stiffer chassis. Perhaps thats what your feeling? Did you check your tire pressure? I have Hankook Ventus V12 on all four wheels.

Do you have run-flat tires? If so, try lowering TP to 30#.

I'd replace the struts being that it's an 04 model. I put M Sports suspension on mine (none of those lowering springs)
and they ride better than the original Sport Suspension (when they were new).
