Thumbs up

For you owners of the new fabulous 535i -- how is the throttle response? How fast do the revs go up when you blip the accelerator? I've been driving a 3.0i Z4 (with the N52 engine) the past 2 weeks and its revs freely when you blip the accelerator. In contrast, my 2004 530i does not and you actually have to "step" on the accelerator for a half-second before the revs build up.

Thanks in advance.

if you have it in drive.it has alot of turbo lag,if you put it into drive/sport mode i think it picks up pretty quick.havent done manual shifting yet.both ways the car is fast, it might not feel like it but if you look at the speedo it gets up there pretty quick. go test drive one and see for yourself

Really? I always found a lag in BMWs drive by wire system... you want to see instant reponse... try a Porsche engine or Ferrari... Maybe they improved it for the 535...

Anyone ever tried using an aftermarket throttle booster... Sprint Booster. I tried it in my E39 and it really helps.. but I think they do not recommend it on cars which have 3litre and above engines.

I will certainly go for a test drive as soon as the 6MT is available with the 535i... I'm hoping that the engine will rev freely and that the shift throws will be like the Z4s'.

The throttle lag is there in the 535i. I noticed it during my back-to-back test drive of the 535i and 550i.

E,
You have got to drive my car the next time we meet up. The Sprint Booster eliminates the lag. How about this Thursday night at the Boiling Crab in OC?

I've driven both and neither the Porsche nor the Ferrari have the low end torque or immediate response down low.
