Thanks for the info Umichchris. Sounds like good news if that is the case. Other than that the car is sweet. Owner mentioned she couldn't get her Iphone to sync with the bluetooth in the car. Have you had a similar problem?
Also considering a sometype of extended warranty. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Thanks
Ken

Also, you don't need nav to have bluetooth -as my car doesn't have nav.

MODS: M5 front, sides, aFe throttle body spacer, RPI Red scoop, amber angle eyes, powder coated sport rims, tinted tail lights. smoked side blinkers, color of car and rims roundels, real carbon fiber roof spoiler, 550i number flat black, LED license plate lights, MTX 12' sub, dyno mat, tinted Windows, flat black grill, flat black exhaust tips, light smoke headlight tint, foged out eyelash, velocity booster.
sprint booster for sure!! almost all bmw's have throttle lag.. its just the way bmw programs the throttle output i guess.... and its VERY VERY VERY easy to install. and i really dont think it would do anything to your warranty.. and i use my iphone with the bluetooth in mine?? i dont see why it wouldn't work for you?

Definitely try the transmission reset trick, if you're looking for a Sprint Booster, I currently have TWO for sale, and if you need the name of a good aftermarket warranty guy, I have on who sells a warranty from Mercury Insurance that others here have used too! Let me know!

Im interested in getting a sprint booster v2 for my 2005 545i this week, question is.. Should I reset the tranny first, then intall the unit? maybe the car will adapt and perform better?
Also is there any other alternative boosters/chips/software tunning I should look into instead first such as BMS, BSS etc.?

I think you'll find the consensus that Sprint Booster is snake oil. Just mash the pedal with the tranny in sport mode (M/S) instead of D. I think this puts it in 1 rather than 2 for the launch. Maybe you have to manually select 1 instead of 2 (like me, ha!, since I have manual). Thankfully, I do not have to deal with the Step tranny.

I think you need to explore why your car is slow out of the gates... I have a 2004 545i and its so quick its ridiculous... I see all the threads about sprint boosters etc and wonder why people need them.

Sprint Booster - Since the newer BMW 's are not "drive by wire" there is an electronic lag between the mechanical interaction and the electronic response of the car. By installing the Sprint Booster in theory you are getting rid of the electromechanical lag. Without going too deep, ETC, determines necessary throttle opening using various input sensors (accelerator pedal position, engine RPM, engine vacuum (load), vehicle speed), and then positions the throttle via an actuator driven by a small, high-torque DC motor.
Reseting Transmission Trick - By doing so you are resetting the transmission back to the factory settings which if you can imagine a blank canvas is willing and ready to learn your driving habits, in order for your car to be shifting aggressively you need to drive it aggressively for at least a couple of hours (best case race track) so you can drive the car hard. City stop and go driving will only mush up the tranny to the way it was before the reset, in spite of that the reseted transmission will be mapped semi aggressive for at least 2 weeks, your other option is to reset it again after that.
Hope this helped...
