I see they have new 5th Gen models on ebay that are very small and you can change the logo at will, i may have to try these out.

Where is the puddle light slot? Is this in the bottom on the door frame? I think most of us have the door handles that illuminate but I don't think these are called puddle lights?

on the bottom of the interior door panel, so it's inside in the 'dry zone'

I left it like in the picture, so no. It's not seen unless you got down on your hands and knees and looked underneath.
