Funny, I have read on here that there was a potential increase in shift performance with CIP 16.2. I firmly believe that is true, as the child in me has taken my 545i to the 1/8 mile timed track prior to and after the upgrade. My times were consistently quicker by about 1/10 of a second.
I run it against my neighbors 300C who has done everything he can to keep up including a new exhaust, a JET chip module, and a K&N cold air intake and he just can't run with me.
Now, here is why I think the upgrade increased the performance. The upgrade was performed during the time that he had his CAI installed, so he and I both felt like I was going to lose the next time we ran them. Well, he ran the fastest times he ever had, and so did I.
He kept accusing me of doing something, and the truth is I did not touch a thing. I truly could not figure out why my car was running faster (multiple runs to confirm), and just found it funny that he still was about a 1/10 second slower than me.
After reading numerous posts making a reference to the improved shift times, it finally occured to me that is what could have happened. So while I can not swear to it, I can tell you my 1/8 mile time is now quicker.

Hey, Derrick, was I the witness?

You were the witness to the spanking he received prior to his mechanical upgrades and my software upgrade. We went last weekend while you were at the road track and ran them again. He had added his cold air intake and JET module, and I thought for sure he would win because it was so close when all 3 of us were there. Interestingly enough, he took the JET module off and ran it with and without and it did decrease his time by 1/10th sec, so the module did in fact improve performance. Had that not happened, I would have basically figured that all of his additions did nothing for him and I just kept the lead, but because we KNOW that he was running faster, it meant that I was too.
I don't know when we will go again, but I will call you. I still think you can beat me.

Is it against a 300C with HEMI or V6?? Did you have v 13.x or v 15.x before the upgrade?

The "C" is the designation for the Hemi V8, so it was against that. I had 15.x prior.
