I've had my car for a few weeks now and am going to pop into the dealer next week to get them to programme the key fob so that when I lock the car the door mirrors fold in. Are there any other options I might want to get the dealer to build into the key, or are the mirrors the only one available?

Idrive allows you to program many, possibly all, of the functions for the key. Look in your owner's manual.

Your seat positions and side mirror position as well as the steering wheel position can all be memorized. (I think). So if your wife also drives the car you can save each setting for each key so that when you get into the car after your wife has driven the car, as soon as you unlock the car with your key your settings go into effect. You only have to readjust the review, which is not motorized. I want to do this too. I first check the manual.

Yeah, thanks guys - I am using the memorised seat/wheel position etc. with the keys, and everything else that you can set via the iDrive - but in the UK the extended press when closing to do the mirrors doesn't work. The dealer has told me that it can be programmed into the key though. I was just wondering if there were any 'secret' instructions that can be built into the key. Making the alarm beep when locking for example ?
