Used to be Screen off, now Phone Directory on top; Next Entertainment lower button.
Would much prefer Passenger Seat Ejector on Top.

Just wondering what did everyone put on the Programmable Buttons on the Steering Wheel?
Just got my e60.
Thinking the following:
1) Manual PDC - Need the front sensors on when pulling into the garage (auto mode only works when Reverse is selected)
2) Phone list
Hate to waste one (such a scarce option ) on the PDC. Any thoughts?

Top: Phone Directory
Bottom: Next entertainment source.
Did anyone else notice that the next entertainment source function goes through all functions of the radio such as AM to FM to Weatherband etc, but that it does not get you to the Auxillary input? For that, I have to go into idrive.

I would really want a Map Facing North shortcut though because most of the time when I look at navigation I just want to see where the hell I am. Right now it takes MENU RIGHT DOWN DOWN DOWN CLICK to get there.

Huh? I didn't think you could program a button for next track or next radio station. The arrow keys on the right side already do exactly that...
Here's my take on the subject:
Top button: Telephone List.
Bottom button: Next Entertainment Source.
On extended nighttime highway trips, I will swap telephone list for the one that turns off the screen so I can quickly toggle it on and off as needed.
For me, programming the mute feature wastes a button since I can use the dashboard knob to mute without using my eyes. I don't use the nav voice so I have no need to program that one either.

Don't you have the button as shown in this pic?
Attachment 17899
and here are my presets:
top button: Navigation, repeat last warning
other button: HDC (hill descend control, since it is a 4 wheel drive)
