I've seen the pictures of the UI changes to the navigation installed iDrive systems, but I've not seen any comments regarding the changes to the non-nav systems. Is that because there are no changes in the UI or is it because the owners of cars with these systems aren't as vocal?

I'm a UI designer as well as a new owner of an '04 545i, so I'm a little obsessed right now and jonesing to get my car back from the service center. When I checked the secret screen on iDrive it seemed to indicate that I was on CIP 19... So I'm curious if when I get the car back, I will see anything new/exciting/different when I check out iDrive.

I recently got upgraded from v 18.x to v 24.x when they replaced my radio/cd MAS-K unit. The interface has changed though mostly seems cosmetic. The font is different for sure. Have not played with it too much but the biggest plus for me was the Accept screen change. You no longer have to hit the iDrive knob to acknowledge the Accept screen, it rolls off automatically after 20-30 seconds. But this is a change in an older version, just new to me and because you are moving from 19, it might be new for you. I think there are even more changes in v 25.x which is what you'll be getting.

The Accept screen was already going away for me, so that one's not new for me.

Thanks for the quick reply... I'm dying to get my car back! I'm in a P.O.S. rental loaner (Chrysler 300) right now and feeling completely uninspired by the drive. I miss my e60 and I've only owned it for 10 days and the service center has had it for 5 of them!!!!!

I got my car back on 5/5/2007 and I supposedly got 25.xx. I don't have nav. No iDrive look and feel changes whatsoever. I was expecting a lot more out of the update, frankly. I don't see or feel any changes in the car whatsoever. I'm not even sure if they really updated it. My friend's '07, non-nav iDrive screen looks much more newer graphics wise and has a few other small features that mine doesn't. I was hoping that my iDrive would change to look like his, but no luck there.

Again, i'm not even sure if they REALLY updated it. See here: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=421272

So far I have not read any post that confirms that there have been cosmetic changes in the M-Ask equipped cars with V25.XX. It would be odd that they cosmetically enhanced the CCC version but not the M-Ask, but we'll see.

I just got my car back from service where the bluetooth retrofit was completed (swap in new TCU), I had the car/key reprogram to enable daytime running lights, window motor replaced, and a problem with the SOS system was fixed....

So I assume that I'm on CIP 25.xx now and I can't tell any difference between what I had before and what I have now, other than the bluetooth options.

I thought they fixed this in V25 - When you scroll throuhg list of mp3s, then push IDRIVE, it supposed to play the song, rather than displaying a list of options (TONE, PLAY) Etc??
