That's getting a bit philosphical. I have no idea what you mean!

Are you saying that "stock" could refer to a "range" of Progman/CIP versions? If not then it's a particular one, innit? No matter how much "earlier than" it is.

ABC
Ok boys, you've confused the hell out of me now....
I guess they could have a 'stock' remap, which is compatible with a particluar range of Progman/CIP versions. I may contact Simon at e-maps and ask him.

But I wasn't led to believe this was the best way to 'remap'?
When Simon remapped my 530d, the ECU was removed, the 'mapping' was read, then emailed to some tuning expert in Germany. He then looked at the tables (and maybe whatever data was logged), tweaked the tables, then emailed the 'tweaked' map back to Simon.
Actually, the longest part of the job was waiting for the guy in Germany to email ack the new map. I'm sure I wasn't the first to have a 2005 05 530d remapped, so it certianly seems that I wasn't having an 'off the shelf' remap installed. More like the original map being tweaked.

Hmmmm... "Stock" must be a particular CIP/Progman release then... and for, the money, why the hell didn't DMS come to you?

Bigger discount if you go to them.

I'm hoping that v25 cures the 1800-2200 rev stuttering that mine gets as well as improving the Sat Nav. Is it possible that the new version actually gives you the option to switch the eyebrows on or off? I'd actually prefer them extinguished.

Bruce, I'm hoping that when they finally get my turbo spooling correctly I'll go for a DMS remap. Did you find that the torque at lower revs i.e. 1200 to 1800 was improved, or is it as flat as before but with a greater build up after 2k?

Yeah, didn't mean that it took a really long time, just that he got the ECU out so quickly, but then we were standing around for a while after he'd emailed the original map to Germany.
But yes, less than an hour wait for the new map to be emailed back.

Most of the time, yes it will get overwritten.

They will remap for free if you take it to them, or for a charge if they come to you the cost should be written on your guarantee.

I'm liking the contrast on the maps, looks better, the new POI facilty is good too.
