Problem with windscreen washer jets

My Ride: 2009 535i X Drive Premium
I cleaned the filter and it was plugged a little on the bottom with some blue sludge but that was it. Not enough to impede flow. I guess I will have to look at the nozzles. I did not drill holes in it.
Do the pumps usually die slow or all at once?
