The "loosen the lugs and lower the jack" trick usually works. Failing that, lie on your back perpendicular to the wheel and kick the shit out of the sidewall with both of your feet. That leg press machine work finally pays off. Hi-yah!

My Winter Wheels are Rials and like some aftermarket wheels they come with a nylon centering ring that doesn't seize to the hub. My BMW wheels however, always have been hard to remove. First time on my brothers' lift I used a sledge on the rears and couldn't believe how hard I had to hit them to break them loose. Second time I was in my garage on jack stands and could only get them loose with a 2x4 (no sledge avail.). I cleaned the wheels & hubs and put anti-seize on both times. Though I understand it's how they keep the wheel and hub concentric, I have to say I really like the nylon rings much better and wonder why BMW hasn't adopted this method.

Just read another post from someone who had 4 bent wheels (on the inside) and wonder if it was from trying to remove them when stuck? Not sure how likely it is that you would bend all 4 on just the inside from normal driving conditions....hmmmm?

I had this with my car, I just kicked the wheel (kick the tyre not your shiny new rims) then rotate the wheel a little then kick again and repeat a necessary.

I once got a flat and the BMW road-side assistance guy, after failing to take the wheel off, used my spare wheel to hit the side of the flat, kind of rubber against rubber. Worked fine, but scared me to death in the process. had he missed the wheel he would damage the fender. For flats it probably only works for RFTs but should be fine for non-flat regular tires.

before you put on your summer wheels, go to the hardware store and buy a wire brush and some anti-seize. Clean the rust off and them apply a light film of anti-seize to to the hub and a some to the bolts and you will never have this issue again. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE ANII-SIZE CAUSING AN ISSUE WITH THE TORQUE SETTINGS OF THE BOLTS. Many master bmw techs and tire techs will confirm that anti-seize WILL NOT effect on the torquing of the bolts.

I have been doing this to all my cars with hub centric rims and I have never had an issue with my torque settings being wrong or having an issue getting my rims off. Good luck
