Pretty much the worst 24 hours ever

Sad to report that I was laid off yesterday at the end of business, and it has quickly become obvious that my long sought after and recently acquired e60 is likely to be the first casualty of unemployment. I spent 6 months finding this car, it's set up exactly how I want it, and now this...
That said, there are many people worse off than I am. I am thankful for my wife, my son, my health and my family/friends, so some perspective is needed. It still really stings.
Happy Holidays to everyone, and if you happen to peruse the classifieds, there just might be a recent listing that interests you. Thank you to all of the awesome regulars on this board who inform and educate. It's really a great place to learn and share.
Best, Mr. Unemployed

1. Budgets typically open up in January. It's generally the best month to find openings.
2. Does your bimmer really cost you that much more to run than any replacements you can find? Try giving up something else first. That car gives you joy, and you need some of that right now.
3. You're in Westchester. I'm in Fairfield County, CT. Let us know what you're looking for. Maybe we know something.
4. Really enjoy the freed up time you now have with your family during this holiday season. As soon as New Years passes, get to work on introspection and polishing your resume. Despite the name, here's a great site if you haven't looked for a job in a while: http://www.net-temps.com/ They have a great newsletter with lots of good job hunting tips.
Good luck!

Sorry to here that. What line of work are you in? We have 4 open positions in I.T. in Charlotte, NC. Two in Windows server support and two in SAN support. It seems IT is alive and well in Charlotte.
PS: It always sucks that layoffs occur in December. Christmas with family should be the best time of year and that happens....
