My Ride: 2005 BMW 545i

I suppose it's better than it NOT coming on in the middle of the summer, but sometimes i just like to cruise with the windows down. My AC will come on even if the button is in the off position. It started doing this every once in a while a couple months back, but when ever i would turn it off again it would stay off. now the blower and AC will not stay off any longer than 5 minutes I am starting to feel like i am playing electrical russian roulette having an out of warranty BMW

car is a 2005 545i with 32,000 miles.

It could be that you have a loose switch or it could be that your car has the automatic humidity sensor and this is why the A/C comes on without your input. Maybe you just never noticed before?

The E39 and E60's I have owned had problems (three times) with the A/C sensor.

The part don't cost much but it's a bitch to change in the E60.

If the Search function would work on this site you would find a lot of my claims and replyes on the matter.
