OK, I have a smoker pack but my rear panel has no power outlets on it, I need power here for the kids dvd player (just ordered the custom BRODIT bracket to mount the screen so it will look almost factory install but does anyone have any idea where I can tap power from, I don't have the trunk outlet either.

here is the brodit bracket:- especially for the E60

Can't answer your question, DD, but do you have the passenger footwell socket. That possibly could be used if the cord is long enough. This would be an occasional thing, right?

Interestingly enough, ALL the E60's at my dealer had No rear lighters/power, of at least 8 vehicles, all had either a wood panel (now standard in UK with advanced Aircon) or a wee storage box.

I'm going to use a nextbase dvd player with it but wanted to avoid having to use the battery pack.

JDN, an extension lead is easy enough to make up but I wanted to avoid running cables all over the car, I also wanted to hardwire my B2 camera detector to the rear power but I don't know if there are any cables behind the wood plate...I'm reluctant to prise it off in case I snap it!

DD, sorry I can't help with the power supply but I want to thank you for showing me the Brodit product.

I never knew about them before but after going to their website, I found a perfect bracket to mount my DVD screen to my wife's car.

They seem to have every imaginable bracket for every combination of cars/players! Wow!

I used a brodit bracket in my mini to mount a phone, they really are fantastic products, very well thought out and manufactured, well worth the cost as they really are NO-DAMAGE fitting.

they have a useful website also.

when mine arrives, I'll post pictures of my dvd install.

Quick note, I got the wood panel in the rear of my Jan build car without adv aircon, must come standard with the wood option I guess

Garry,

Did you get power sockets/lighters??

just wondering if the wiring would be there behind the panel or do you only get power outlets if you have heated rear seats?

What package do you need to order to get the rear sockets?

BTW, what kind of Mini do you have? New? Classic? One? Cooper? Cooper S?
