My Ride: 2010 550 M Sport
Possibly buy 2010 550 m sport
Car has 39500 miles. Dealer came off 5k. Problem is, I'm in jax fl and car is in NC. I'm in sales so I understand the guy telling me the car is flawless, but..... I'm flying up Sunday night and possibly driving the beast home Monday. Any thoughts or components that I should thoroughly check out upon inspection. Car is loaded.

My profile is wrong and OLD have been driving the man van Tahoe for the last 4 years. So happy be getting back into the most fun car I have ever driving but with a V8!

Good to see another person from Jacksonville on here! 
I'm assuming the car is still under warranty...but I would take it for a lengthy test drive to get a good feel for the car. I bought my 550 used too, 3 yrs ago with 28k miles on it. While it was still under warranty, I had a several items covered. If you haven't driven a 550 before you may find the throttle response a little sluggish or transmission slightly jerky if it has SAT option. These can be smoothed out by a reprogramming by the BMW dealer. At 39k, the rear tires are most definitely shot if they are the original tires. Visually inspect the brake pads as the rear may be wearing down by now. Probably obvious things, but make sure you have both keys are in good working condition, all the tools in the trunk, and all the manuals provided. Definitely give the car a good visual inspection for the paint and body condition because the slightest flaw would probably drive you nuts afterwards! Good luck with the purchase!

Any place worth doing business with will allow you to take the car to a BMW center for an inspection, which is worth the $200 imo. Good luck with the purchase, you will love the car

Guys thanks for the responses. Twist in the story, the first bmw salesman I spoke to about the car I really wanted was a jerk. I called dealer back spoke to another guy and they gave me a sweeter deal on the car I really want (black on black) and its a CPO so I feel much better about it! Also a little closer to Jax, it's in SC! Will post pics after I take delivery!
