I took my car in to fix a popping sound from the speakers when switching from radio to CD player.

Steps taken so far:
1. Upgraded Progman - did not fix.
2. Replaced CD player, reloaded progman - did not fix.
3. Replaced CCC, reloaded progman - did not fix.

PUMA case opened with BMW.

Anyone else has this problem. Any ideas on what should be looked at to fix??

Sounds like what mine does too. Radio or CD on mute gives a crackling sound. Mute off but volume down is silent. Not at all impressive

JStraw - was this PUMA case ever resolved? I had the same problem with my car but the crackling only happens when it is hot and the audio system has been on for a couple of hours.

The problem was supposedly fixed with a software update but I havent been able to confirm since it is now cold where I live and I haven't had the chance to use my car for a extended period of time.
