Lately when slowing down, right at about 15mph I get a thud in the brake pedal and the steering wheel. You only feel it when slowing down, does not/or can not feel when you are accelerating. My car is going to be out of warranty in about a month and want to get this figured out. Car is a 08 535i w/sport package. Has anyone had anything like this happen to them?

Thanks

If there is low traction, it might be your abs making that noise when engaging. Does the DSC light turn on also? If not, check the calipers. The worst case scenario is that their is something going on with your transmission. If it's under warranty still, get it documented with the dealer.

No DSC lights flashing. Its weird does not feel like a transmission or engine component. Does any one know if the active sway bars do anything when slowing down. My buddy told me to look into this(he is not a BMW mechanic but an audi one).

Take your car to an independent BMW service shop and get a full inspection done. Any issues found should be fixed under warranty by the dealer.
My transmission, vaccum pump, alternator bracket seal and cooling system hoses all started leaking after inspected by an independent shop.

Also if it happens again 2-3 months after the warranty, at least it's documented and they'll try to fix it again under warranty.

Dealer will only performance scheduled maintenance service, look for reported problem or fix the problem if there is a fault code. However, an independent shop will performance an extensive inspection of the vehicle, especially for signs of leaking (areas we can't see) which dealer will wait till your warranty is over and charge you big bucks to fix it.
