Default Poor return pressure from brakes

Hello I'm new here, today, and its not the first time, my brakes tend to stick on and don't retract as quickly as they should so I end up driving against the brakes. If i stop and turn the engine off for ten mins, the problem goes away only to return in a weeks time. I'm almost certain that its the front brakes and when I stop I can see and smell that they have gotten hot. I've changed the front disks as they were low anyway and the pad and callipers are all gravy, I've checked the vacuum line and there is good suction and no leaks that I can see. If anyone has any good suggestions please help me out. cheers.

I would grease the guide pins and bleed the whole system. Push caliper all the way in and set breaks. Then troubleshoot from there. All it costs you is a bottle of brake fluid and silicone grease if you don't already have it.

Thanks mate, I'm going to have a look at the brake fluid also as I don't think it's been changed in a while. Possibly its got water in it as the problem only really happens when its cold as far as I know, I've only owned the car for a few weeks.

Make sure you grease the guide pins also. You'll be able to tell if it's the guide pins if the don't pull out easy.

Ok just focus on the brake bleed and go from there. It may be a bad brake hose hopefully if the bleed doesn't work

When was the last time you had brake fluid service done? I never miss mine. I get my indy mechanic to flush and bleed my system.

Not for almost 50 thousand miles according to the service history. Not ideal

Brake fluid absorbs water by design to prevent it from pooling at one spot in the system and corroding that spot. Since it absorbs water it is supposed to be replaced every 2 years.
