I'm taking my car in tomorrow...I'll ask my SA and let you guys know. Not sure if Canadian e60 are fitted with block heaters when they enter the country? I was curious to simply plug it in and see what happens but I'll wait till I know what it is!

I was told I cant get a block heater because my engine doesn't have a frost plug, this is on a N52 though so other engines are most likely different.

I dont plug my car in and it has been -40 with the windchill. Lucky for me havent had any problems starting

the block heater that I got is not a frost plug type, it is basically a metal brick that is bolted on. There was already 2 bolt holes right by the oil drain plug and the block heater only fits one why so you fit it in the slot and bolt it on with the provided bolts.
