If your going to retrofit your Pre LCI to LCI,


Make sure you get all the parts first, Especially the LCM (light control Module).


if you dont, this will happen




because i already wired my lights from 8 pin to 12pin, i already had parking light errors, and spoke to greeeeeeeeeat people here, and was reccommended to get the New updated LCM because mine was under 2006.


back in the UK, i drove in thge countryside, and it was sooooooo dark i had to use my High beams (the flashers) and the next day i saw it melted my reflectors, I'M VEEEEEEX

i now realise that if u dont have the correct lcm, the car will give a very high output (heat) and the new LCM gives out slightly less output so i doesnt melt the rings....


so looks like i have to buy another set of LCI;s unless i can fix these...

Which reflector? The big main beam or the smaller one?

is that high beam lamp used normally? i thought in the US at least that it does nothing on lci cars.

 

I've done exactly the same to mine. I just live with it. Try not to leave the high beam on too long

 

i wonder if the pre-lci cars have this potential issue, cause i hold my high beams on once in a while.

 

What swap did you do originaly? Pre-LCI Halogen->LCI Halogen? Pre-LCI xenon->LCI Xenon? If you did Pre-LCI halogen to LCI halogen, the LCM shouldn't have an effect on the high beam as both lights use a 55w H7 bulb. The only time the LCM would have an issue with power is if you did Pre-LCI to LCI Xenon. The LCI Xenon uses a 35w high beam bulb vs all other lights use a 55w high beam bulb. Are you sure you have the correct bulb in the high beam?

 

high beam? It's a Bi-Xenon so the hi-beam is in the main beam ... You mean the smaller reflector ...
If it has a frosted lens it suppose to be for a cornering light ... not for high beam.
I think member BenAnd already warned those who's doing conversion to not use that light for too long.

 

i guess i should have said "inner lamp" or "flash to pass lamp", which i use as a high beam sometimes by holding the turn indicator.
