My Ride: 2006 BMW 530I
Model Year: 530i
Default Please help.

Hey guys,

Ref: Last seven digits of VIN: CM30564

My car is a 2006 BMW 530i (N52 Engine). According to www.realoem.com, the part number for the cable harness is 12517556871.

RealOEM.com * BMW E60 530i Cable harness injection valve/ignition

BMWMERDESPARTS.COM sent me the new cable harness I ordered and some of the plugs don't match (fit)

Attached are the tags for the cable harness the BMW Dealer sent (part C) and the one that comes from my car (part C1).

Why are the part numbers different? And how can I find the right cable harness for my car?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Daniel

but he got the part# he ordered, according to the number from realoem, so its not the retailer's fault.

i tried looking up the old number with no luck. you may need to contact the retailer if they offer tech support, or a dealer...

The cable harness that they sent has the part number that is consistent to what www.realoem.com provided for my VIN. I wonder why some of the plugs are not matching to the ones that are on my car?

I'll touch base with them today and go from there...

Thanks.

Daniel

My cable has two plugs (connectors) for the two vanos solenoids. Theirs has only one plug. See attachments (part B and part B1) for comparisons.

Also, part A and part A1 are different. Their plug has two electrical wires while mine has three wires.

I really hope they somehow sent me the wrong one because I should not have to modify anything if the parts are really OEM's(???). Can those parts be modified and not fry my car's computer system?

What is part A1?

Thanks,

Daniel

why you would not contact bmw dealer with your VIN and ask for part number? realoem does not give you 100% correct information in fact many part numbers missing on their list so they only way is to ask a dealer

When I spoke with Justin from bmwmercedesparts.com yesterday, he said I shouldn't have to modify anything. He said he will do some research and get back with me today.

Since most of the forum members here are so awesome, I just wanted to hear your feedbacks before I speak with them again. The receipt says all returns get a 35% re-stocking hit.

Please forgive me for I not know what I do (our love songs, lol), I didn't know realoem does not give 100% correct info. I use the site because I thought it would help them understand what I want better. ;-)

Update:

The harness appears to be mislabeled because too many connectors don't look right. I will be sending it back to the dealer today.

Thanks for your help, everyone!

Dan, if you bought that part from BMWmercedesparts dot com (Husker Auto Group), ask for Mike Maguire, his direct number is 402-479-7593, give him your VIN number and ask him to send you correct harness without any [shipping] charge to you.

That harness/ignition problem is continuing to haunt you... :-)

Hey Pcy,

Hope all is well. Haven't seen you on this forum for awhile, must be too busy with the ladies. :-)

Mike Maguire already ordered me a new one from Germany yesterday. Let's hope it will be a direct fit! Yeah, he's a cool guy.

The harness problem (causing SES to come on) has not really bother (mechanically) me in the last three years. It's just the SES light (for misfire #4) that comes on and easily cleared until the next start up. I need to replace it to pass the smog test in May! lol

After that is fixed, I might be haunting you with more stupid questions about the engine mounts and other preventative maintenances. Then, I will be ready to open a BMW Repair Shop FOR 2006 BMW 530i ONLY. lol
