I just purchased an 05 545i with Nav and have been reading the forums for a few days and understand that people with 16.2 (which is what I have) and no nav can read mp3 cd's. I cannot!!
I thought I read somewhere that in september there will be a software update where people with Nav can read MP3 Cd's is this true?

You need radio professional. And the only way to get radio professional in the US is to have nav. If you have nav you need the new software that will be released in September, hopefully. After the upgrade you will be able to play MP3 files.
