I burned a data DVD full of mp3s and it won't play in the DVD slot of my 2007 LCI 535d. It's idrive w/pro Nav CCC (update 1 with the favourite keys). Video DVDs don't work either but I'm not sure if this system can play those. Mp3 DVDs though I thought were a go-er.
Apologies: found it very difficult to research this on the forum as 3 letter searches are barred - 'ccc', 'mp3', 'DVD', 'nav', etc!!

Done further reading and sure this shouldn't need coding on a 2007 LCI.
I'll try with an MP3 cd and see - presuming if mp3 CDs work then 'MP3' is enabled and I'll try some different DVDs and burn options. Will update thread with results for others ref.

I've tried with a new DVD burnt at 2x with only a handful of files and finalised the disc. Also burnt a cd in the same manner. Neither will play in either drive.
I've read on another forum that it needs to be enabled via coding, so will look in to this.

I've burnt data discs and they didn't play while others played. It's been many years so i don't remember but I think they are CD-R and there were a few folders. Played in both CD and DVD. I don't really listen to music much anymore and when I listen to audio files it's on my iphone/aux. So wish i could be more help. Have you ever played an MP3 in this car from a CD? Chances are you need to have it coded to do so. You'll have to see your vehicle order and/or management files. Is it possible? yes. For you? I don't know
As far as video, no they won't play for you.

Thanks again very much for the info.
Never played an MP3 from a CD/DVD. Coding seems funny as the manual specifically states it should play "compressed audio files" on the CD drive (but no mention of DVD).
That said a D CAN cable is £22 delivered on eBay so might give that a spin. Sure I'll find some setting to change to make it worthwhile even if mp3s are a dead end!!

OP delivery time.
1. Burned an MP3 CD and DVD using Nero Express in 'Audio Jukebox' mode, both work in the car.
2. The £22 eBay cable works a treat for coding and despite some mega-bed-time-reading this was pretty easy to get going - so anyone thinking about it should get involved.
