Hi all,
My 2005 E60 manual has only 60k on the clock and looks like new, even under the hood.
However, i am having a lot trouble shifting it smoothly.
When i'm driving, at any speed, and let go of the gas, the car gives "clunk" and when i step on the gas, again there is a "clunk" so there seems to be play in the driveline somewhere.
Did anyone else have this issue? Engine mounts look good so it might be in the gearbox or differential?

No it's not really metallic. It is there.. but its more Bump then a Clunk so i think something is still dampning it a bit.
My guess is the flex disc so i am going to check that first.

Got the car on the bridge today.
All parts of the driveline where shiny like new. No play anywhere. Also no play in the mounting rubbers.
Next up; Checking/replacing the Dual Mass Flywheel and going to remove the CDV while i am at it. Because BMW... Im sorry but these cars shift like shit
