If you're within a day's drive of Pittsburgh, PA you should consider attending the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix.

The main event is July 18-19, but there's lots to do between now and then.

BMW is the featured Marque of the Year for 2009. If you aren't famaliar with the event take a minute to peek at www.pvgp.org you'll be amazed at what happens here in Pittsburgh.

The Allegheny Chapter of the BMWCCA is very involved as well. They're hosting numerous events between now and race weekend.

All proceeds from the PVGP go to charity.

Oh... don't let the name "vintage" scare you, the event attracts cars of all ages & styles.

Man, I wish I had known about this earlier. I dont think I will be able to make it on such short notice. I used to go to the PVGP quite a bit when I lived up there. That list of BMW themed events sounds like a great weekend, I wish I could make it!!

Lets get a report and lots of pictures from and e60.netter that makes it to any of the events....

It really is cool. And the fact that the entire event is run by volunteers and all proceeds go to charity makes it even cooler!

That's a fantastic event. I used to go when I lived there.

There's the race, and then there are fields full of cars on show... usually an exotics area, a Corvette area, etc...

Right before he died, I met Zora Arkus-Duntov and his wife on a golf cart. He was being ferried around the Corvette area signing autographs.

Possibly, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to make it this year.

The Allegheny Chapter of the CCA usually has at least one tent (possibly more this year)...
They may have some additional details on their website:
