My Ride: 2008 550i ZSP with Style 167 wheels
Finally found some good pictures showing the differences (visually) between the 2 new automatics.
"Sport Shifter" (with paddles).
Regular (no paddles).

Much improved interior over 2007!
I didn't notice BMW's infamous cupholders in either pic---or are they just included in the U.S. car?

No you get them in Europe in most specs (except for the most basic where they might be an option instead). I have never seen a car without cupholders myself but have heard they exist. For some reason they like making photographs without them - maybe for the cleaner lines.

The sports auto may be more like Audi's DSG than the old SMG ... we'll know more as details are released.
Either way, these new trannies should be much better performers than the current Steptronic.
