My Ride: 2008 550i 10/12 Delivery Date - Deep Sea Blue Metallic: Black Nasca Leather, Ventilated Seats, Sport Pkg, SAT, Logic 7, HD Radio, SatNav, Power Rear Sunshades, Comfort Access, Active Steering, iPod/USB interface, and Bamboo Anthracite Trim.
Other ride: Lexus 95 LS400 193000 Miles and still going.
Here are some pics I took. They were taken in my garage due to bad weather outside. Have only driven it a few hundred miles so far but it is a night and day difference from driving my Lexus, which is still a nice ride. However, I can concur with the reviews others have given for the '08 550i.
In the last pic there is a vent in the center storage where the USB/IPOD connector is. Can anyone tell me what that vent is for? Because I thought the LCI's with USB/IPOD option don't have ventilated center storages. I have set the climate control to highest fan speed and tested it with various temperatures but no air flow from there. I haven't tried it with A/C yet.

Congrats! Looks great!!
That "vent" in the console is not connected to any ductwork. It's just a vent to allow airflow. The area where the iPod/USB connections are would be where the ducted "supply" vent would be located.

Hmmm, wonder if that vent can be ported to the rear passenger vent to make it a ventilated compartment. Probably take alot of effort to do that. Oh well, thanks for comments and info.

It's amazing how that paint color changes in the light. I would swear that your car was purple in one color and yet very blue in another. Great choice in color. Enjoy it.
