Red face

We got 8"-10" of snow here in the Twin Cities on Saturday afternoon. I had some errands to run so I thought it would be a good time to test the new 18" Dunlop Winter Sport M3's on my factory 124's. At the time about 5"-6" of fresh snow had fallen at the time and the plows had yet to clear the roads in my neighborhood. After clearing the driveway with the snowblower, which took about 45 minutes, I ventured out into the blizzard. It was definitely slow going through my neighborhood but I was very impressed with the performance of these tires in this deep snow. With the DSC/DTC in full effect and Winter Sport M3's the 550 made quick work of the 5"-6" of snow. The only real problem I encountered was that in some places the snow blowing in off the lake had piled up and was deeper than the car had ride height clearance which turned the e60 into a sleek black sapphire plow. The main roads to my destination had been plowed while side roads were still left with deep snow. Having already passed the deep snow test with flying colors the M3's were presented a new test, ice and slush. PASSED. As I said earlier, DSC/DTC combined with these tires make the 550 a force to be reckoned in these extreme conditions. I noticed there were only a few non 4x4's out on the road, dumb enough or brave enough to venture out. Snowmobiles were out in full force, eager like me to try out their snow dedicated vehicles in the first deep snow fall of the year. I snapped a few crappy cell phone pictures on sunday, the day after the storm, of my e60 side by side with a couple of fellow proven snow eaters.

I'll bet that LT180 would do well in the snow, put a snow pusher on it and make some cash cleaning out drive ways !

I don't want to put the enterprising neighbor kids and their shovels out of business. Next you'll want me to set up a lemonade stand next to theirs in the summertime too. I was originally was going to go route you suggest minus the cash aspect. The JD LT180 it seems isn't heavy enough, even with my fat a$$ on it, to move much more than an inch or two of snow with a blade.

Thanks. It's hard to keep a black car clean in Minnesota in the winter. I have an unlimited pass to a full service soft cloth car wash, they do a great job. I go almost every day during the winter months, in fact last year I actually went twice one day during a really slushy salty crappy day. I bought the basic unlimited package and have become good friends with the guys at the car wash seeing as I'm there every day. They are nice enough to upgrade me to the top of the line, full Elvis every time.

"Shieeet... not this guy again!" How does your car fair against the swirl marks with so many washes?
