My steering wheels looks horrible, like something out of a 30 year old buick. The leather around is peeled on the top and is just flat out depressing. Im taking my car in soon for service and was curious if anyone has got the steering wheel replaced under CPO warranty? Not sure if its considered one of theyre wear items. Also looking to see if the rear window gasket can be replaced under CPO. Thanks!

CPO does not cover wear items. Only the 4 yr 50,000 original bumper to bumper does.

not sure about CPO, but it's even tuff under factory warranty. i went to the first dealer when i got my car and they would not replace it. then i took it to my friend's dealer and he said the only way he was able to get it replaced was to claim the steering wheel heater was not working. on a plus side, the new leather steering wheel is the updated version that will last much longer. not the soft smooth leather the early E60's came with.

i had mine replaced under the 4/50 about the second or third year and hell the new on looks worse than the old one did not sure why it ages like that it's got to be a sun issue as I never put any chemicals on the wheel and my hands really don't even stay there for that contact that portion of the wheel that often. If I did not have a heated wheel i would put on eel skins on it.

I had mine replaced under the factory warranty 2 years ago. It is still in good condition. It has a different textured leather, more rough in texture. I like it since you do have a better grip and matte in finish compared to the old one which is smooth and shiny.

Probably an upholstery shop can make a new one to go over.
