I am having intermittent PDC issues. My trunk is and has always been bone-dry. I have checked and did the reset test on the pdc controller, and recently had two of the front sensors replaced after an accident. 98% of the time, pdc does NOT work and the light flashes green. On some rare occasions, however, I will turn my baby on and the PDC will fire right up like nothing is wrong and ALL of the sensors appear to be working properly.

Here is where it gets confusing. When it doesn't work, I can hear all of the sensors making the "clicking" sound except for two in the front. Those two sensors DO work on the rare occasion that the system works, and one of the sensors is in fact brand new.

I have all of the BMW dealer software, which I really have not used much yet (I still have a CCC to reprogram to my car 1.5 years later!) but would scanning for the fault codes be the best next step? I am guessing it is a wiring issue, but I don't know where to start with that.

I don't really NEED the PDC, but it'd be really nice to get rid of the exclamation point on my instrument cluster

Run DIS and see if it reports any codes (you can use INPA as well). DIS may have some troubleshooting steps (TIS) or some builtin tests that may help you diognose the problem. First thing first is to check for any error codes.
