hey guys any clue about whats going on?
I do not know how this happend but the passenger window only goes Down whether you hit up or down from the passenger side.
BUT works fine from the driver window controls??
I have seen the DIYS for ressetting and holding down for 20 secs or w/e but that does not seem to fix it? Any clue? Any help would be appreciated.

If the window works fine from the driver console and not with the passenger button, probably this button is to blame...

My Ride: 2004 BMW 530i - no mods. Pretty basic really. I mean it has tires, windows, and a sweet look, what more could a man want? Honestly, I'd like to improve the sound system mildly, and possibly find a worthy engine mod that would increase my BHP by 100 without giving an arm and a leg for. I don't think it's out there, so I'll stay stock and love driving my 530i.
I just had a similar experience. For me this is what worked, in basic :-) :
10 FOR Roll the window all the way up - I'm guessing for you this means rolling it up from the driver's master control.
20 GOTO the malfunctioning window. Roll it down, all the way down, release, and hold down again for 17 seconds.
## I also read 20 seconds and that did not work for me, 17 seconds WORKED - I don't know why, it just did. It was as if 20 was toooo long and I felt like I had to start over every time.
30 WHILE At 17 seconds pull up on the switch, don't pause. If you're holding it down go from down to up - do not release it and then try to pull up - this will not work.
40 IF the window goes up partially then it's time to start over GOTO 10
50 PRINT I suspect success is that it will roll all the way up, then all the way down, and then all the way back up -- by itself.
60 END
Now my auto switch works again! Sweet! Understand this took me a week of figuring out and after trying all the tips that I could find on the net. Eventually it just worked again. Hope this helps for you too. BTW, the dealer said I needed a new motor - likely, but at $150 plus labor came to $750. I could do it myself, but it's working right now, so why bother.

BimmerJay is describing an anti-trap reset...
a bit more clearly explained here:
http://forums.5serie...post__p__618509
***you must perform this procedure on the actual door/window involved, not from the driver side door control...
if this does not solve the problem, most likely it's a bad motor and/or switch

hahaha, sorry guys... I was geeking out lastnight. Thought a little old skool basic would be fun - guess not. Actually I used the instructions provided by GENaTALS to fix my issue. Suppose I should have just linked that. What was most important is the 17 second bit. There are different threads that say 5, 10, or 20 seconds. 17 seconds worked - time it!
