Hi,

I discovered I had a power socket on the passenger side in the footwell. For some reason, it does not work. The only thing I can think of is that a fuse is blown. Can anyone tell me which fuse to look at? The fuse diagram only shows "cigarette lighter" and mentions two fuses.

Thanks,
Bill

I am sure this isn't the case for you, but i thought mine didn't work at first either, but it turned out I really had to force the charger in there to get a proper connection. I am sure you have already ruled this possibility out, but perhaps this answer can help someone else. This is a precariously placed outlet.

None of the sockets will work unless the key is in the on position or the engine is running

Thanks Guys!

I have tried it with the ignition running. I discovered it did not work when I connected my GPS to this outlet and it did not start when I started the car. I'll check the fuses today as it was too dark to tell whether any of them were blown or not. I'll also try seating the power cord much harder and see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks again!

Silly question here (maybe) but in a RHD vehicle like we have here in the UK, would this be on the Passenger side of the dash (left side, where LHD Drivers side is), or the RH Side (UK Drivers)?
Ive had a look but couldn't find anything! Anyone have pics of location?

Hi,

In the US it is on the right hand side....passenger side. It is hard to see. Look underneath the glove box...stick your head into the footwell and look straight up. This socket has a hinged door.

According to the fuse diagram, both fuses are located in the trunk. Fuses 61 and 82 are designated as "cigarette lighter". I pulled both and they are no blown. The term "cigarette lighter does not seem to be the correct term for a power outlet?? However, I did not find any other fuse that seemed appropriately named? I'll go for a drive later and see if I can seat the plug fully as was suggested earlier.
