Thumbs down

I've just talked to my dealer about the recall letter I received and wanted to know how long it will take and when it can be done on mine...

BUT:

They have received an info from BMW today to stop doing the recall for now, since what BMW suggests the dealer to do to solve the problem is NOT solving it...

C'mon this is a multi million dollar company and they are recalling cars to fix them and in the end they don't fix them...

BMW is struggling to keep their high-tech cars on the road.

What really sux is that if you've had the car at your dealer for this recall, you will need to stop in again, once they have a solution...
And if you were allready affected with the DME recall... then this will be the third recall stop in...

I wonder what will happen to all the cars in the port waiting for the DME recall. Will they stay there untill BMW figures out how to fix it?? Or will they be delivered and have a recall later????

Just checked with my service advisor on the passenger air bag light. He said they know there is a problem. He says it is in the light and not the airbag deployment system. The airbags will work for passengers weighing more than 45 pounds but that the light is not a reliable indicator. He said that a recall would be issued as soon as they have a fix. All I can say is that this advisor has been totally reliable in the past so I no reason to doubt him. I would feel better if the light worked as designed!

The recall that I'm talking about has nothing to do with the light, we don't even have the light in Germany...!
Sorry, but your dealer (SA) is wrong...
