The E46 is a solid car. I have one with 60K on it and put my wife in it. It's mint. Has the M54 engine which is what I have in my 530. I am not familiar with the S54 engine but it's an E46. I love them. I can retrofit anyway I'd like and i'll have power, real power....crazy power. I have seen M3's with 500hp with a few mods.

I've been considering this myself. At times I kinda wish I went with an E46 M3 myself. Don't get me wrong I love my E60, however I don't use my back seats for anything.
