I had a collision with my 2006 BMW 530xi and had some parts damages. I want to fix the car DIY. I successfully removed front bumper and right headlight. However I don't know how to fix the part in attached picture. Anyone know the part number and procedure to repair it?

looks like it's part of the frame so I'm not sure if you can fix it on your own but you can go to realoem.com and look up the part # for your year and model.

If you are not aware BMW is mostly aluminum. That's why it is so expensive to repair them. Your typical body shop is not even certified to repair them back up to insurance standards. Yes that part must be cut off and a new part welded back on.

If you are lucky you can just bang it back to where it was.

The circled sheetmetal is the front portion of the entire right side "wheelhouse", part number 41.11.7.075.124 (at least for my '04 545i) that lists for $1200+. The part is entire side of the engine bay from firewall to front core support (including strut tower, inner fender well, etc.). So, your best bet is to pull and straighten this piece. A body shop would probably purchase the entire $1200 part and cut off the portion they needed and weld into place.

that part is replaceable as i had it done on mine. you dont need the whole fender apron. that part is like $100 or $200. I thought it needed to be welded so i brought it to a shop that said it is riveted in. it really just supports the headlight and part of the radiator support....

Thanks for the answers. I finally found the part number for my car 41147111070 at http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/s...ssembly=263150. This part is connected to wheelhouse using adhesive kit (pn: 83190413015) and rivets. No welding seems to be applied. Any idea how to remove the adhesive kit and rivets to replace the part?

So it is, i see that now. Comes with the part number I listed, but is available seperately as well

The replacement of this part is not a DYI.

The damaged part appears to be a radiator support side panel, it's welded to the fender apron. It has seam sealer over the welds to prevent corrosion.

Although the part is cheap ($85), the labor to install is not.

If it's alum, you need a special welder and training to replace this.

Just remember, if you weld it in the wrong spot, your screwed.. None of the other sheet metal, bumper cover or headlamps will fit properly.

On top of this the 're-do' on this repair will be expensive too.

Save the grief, take it to a BMW certified body shop.
