pan and gasket

I need to have my transmission pan and valve cover gasket replaced what else shuld be done at the same time? should parts be OEM, or what brand??

While the trans pan is down, it's relatively easy to inspect the trans sleeve leak and change the sleeve, if necessary. Trans pan+filter, gasket come as a kit, get that. Use proper fluid, not any off the shelf trans fluid.
As for valve cover gasket, if applicable, change the valvetronic motor gasket [that is mounted in the valve cover] as well as the valvetronic sensor gasket.
