Left my car at parking lot and when i returned back the front fender and bumper were scratched.
Anyways took the car to a body shop, fixed the fender and bumper but there is a color difference.
Why is this happening? The guy from body shop claims the color with become normal... is this for real ?
Any thoughts or inputs ?

If the painter claims the color he put will magically change colors after it has already dried then he is a moron and you are in denial. If you notice something wrong with the color you need to contact them and have it fixed.

That is a hustle if I ever heard one. They need to fix it! Even if they have to blend in the adjacent panels to do it. Do not accept that. If you are not happy, they need to fix it!

It seems like the issues is that he ordered the factory paint rather than color matching it to the panels. The issue with that is your factory paint had faded due to UV exposure, so the difference is noticeable. The only way to rectify this is to colormatch the panels, or to blend the new paint onto the old, making it less noticeable.

So the paint "curing" line really isn't true?

Dried paint doesn't change color once it's dried, and they are not going to give him his vehicle with wet paint, so no it isn't true.

did they use water base paint? there may be some truth to the drying then.
mettalics and silver especially, are the hardest colors to match.

Went back to the shop this morning. They used water base color from Glasurit based on the color of the car.
They explain me that they respray the scratch only and not the whole panel and after that they did the finish
They wont respray it or do anything with it as it will become worst.

That's what they all say. You have to say the following: This is a bad job done. Here is the car. Make it look right. Leave.

drantispy- Hope they get it right the second time around for you.

Any good shop should be have a lifetime warranty. Did you pay out of pocket or was this an insurance claim?

If this was an insurance claim, they sometimes back the work as well.
