btw the 700 they would give me is just to fix and paint. they dont wanna pay to replace the bumper but the shop I went to said I can call the insurance company and let them pay for new bumper. he also said if I claimed for replacing a bumper they wont pay until he give them an invoice of buying a bumper from the dealership.

so I'm thinking to let him do that and buy the bumper then I take it and sell it on the forums or ebay. how much do u guys think I can sell new stock oem unpainted bumper??

Take it from an experienced painter. Paint and materials can cost no more than $150. A whole car would cost about $200-$250 in quality materials.
If I did not feel like doing things myself or did not have the "know how" I would pay no more than $400. Installation and spraying is about 2-4 hour job. So @ $50 an hour they should give you q uality work for $400. Unless you have bad parts which require retrofitting then add an additional 2 hours so another $100. There was a ladder in the middle of the highway and i hit it and broke my front spoiler and scratched my front end up so I decided to repaint. New spoiler was about $90 and paint and clear was about $55 and took me about 2 hours total with a fast hardener. It cost me less than $200 so no need to contact an insurance adjuster. And yes, you have to blend...this was the bumper and the spoiler... you see I blended it about 6 inches into the hood and 6 inches into the fenders then laid the clear coat.

i have to say that I dont have the experience to do it myself. so now I believe 400 is fair price

AchtungE60,

Out of curiosity, what materials did you use?

Thanks!
