I had a chance to see some more E60s at the dealership (as I wait for mine!)
and this orange peel effect is worrisome -

My 1995 E35 540sport - even after 10 years, has a great paint job, very smooth and absolutely no
orange peel texture at all. My lexus is similar-a very high quality job.

What happened? do the 2004 E60s have the same paint as the 2006's?

As far as I'm concerned the answer is yes. Even thou some paints like the Orient blue has been replaced.
